Epidemiology
Hepatitis E virus (HEV), an RNA virus, poses worldwide health challenges due to its capacity to infect a broad range of hosts and cross interspecies boundaries. As a critical zoonotic pathogen, it significantly impacts both human and animal health. HEV spreads primarily through the fecal-oral route, often via contaminated water or food, and can also be transmitted vertically from mother to offspring or through blood. This extensive contamination elevates the risk of infection across populations [1-2].
Work Flow
Option 1
Employ a general DNA/RNA extraction kit together with an automatic nucleic acid extractor. Follow the manufacturer's protocol for extraction. The suggested elution volume is 80 µL.
Option 2
Use a viral DNA/RNA extraction kit. Adhere strictly to the provided instructions. Start with a sample volume of 140 µL and elute in 60 µL.

| Specificity | Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is an RNA virus that causes global health problems. It has a wide host range and has the property of crossing interspecies barriers. It is one of the most important zoonotic pathogens and cause great harm to human and animal. HEV is mainly transmitted through fecal-oral transmission, and can also be transmitted vertically through embryos or blood. Among them, in the fecal-oral transmission route, HEV-contaminated water and food spread widely, and the risk of HEV infection in humans and animals is high[1-2]. |
